Art Republik Launched At The NCCA

28, February 2012, Intramuros - Art Republik, the 30-minute TV program that profiles the Filipino artists on Knowledge Channel, has been launched at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) simultaneous to the to the maiden airing of its pilot episode at 8:40 p.m. on the cable channel. The first episode titles "Siblings in Art" features sisters Sari, Aba and Kiri Lluch Dalena and brothers Roxlee and Romeo Lee. 

Mr. Bernan Joseph R. Corpuz of the NCCA Administrative and Finance Division;   Edric Calma, channel manager of Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc and; Art Republik  producer Betty Uy-Regala provided remarks prior to the screening of the trailers of the 13 episodes, Episode 1 and Episode 13. The event was hosted by theater actor Miachael Ian Lomongo.

The season-ender Episode 13 titled "The National Atists Special" features National Artist for Architecture Idelfonso P. Santos, National Artist for Literature Virgilio S. Almario, National Artist for the Visual Arts Abdulmari Asia Imao, and the late Salvador F. Bernal, national Artist for Theater Design. Imao was the guest of honor of the launch.
